Square trays of colored water and water balloons sit on a table outside waiting to freeze

It is winter at our New Way Garden and the students are working on ice sculptures. The ice sculpture process begins with a metal tray and a cup. The students fill the tray and cup with water as well as paint for color. They can also collect items from nature such as leaves, acorns or even pieces of frozen ice to mix into the water (some have added a dash of glitter too!). Once frozen, the tray will be removed and the ice sculptures will be hung. Students also have the option to fill a balloon with water (and paint if they wish) for freezing to create an ice globe. Please check back next week to see the final results!
