Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited for the upcoming 2026 Summer Youth Program! The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) connects Greenburgh-North Castle UFSD (GNC) students between the ages of 14 and 21 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer.

Through SYEP, participants can explore different interests and career pathways, develop productive workplace habits, and engage in learning experiences that strengthen their social, civic, and leadership skills.

By participating in structured projects and work-based opportunities, GNC students are better prepared for careers of the future.

To participate in this year’s program at GNC all students are required to have a valid, government-issued photo ID. A GNC transition specialist will be reaching out to you in the coming weeks.

Accepted Forms of Identification include the following:

  • State-issued Driver’s License or Learner's Permit

  • State-issued Non-Driver Identification Card

  • U.S. Passport

  • IDNYC Card (for NYC residents)

If your child does not currently have one of the documents listed above, here are the primary options for New York residents:

NY DMV Non-Driver ID Card: Available to residents of all ages. This requires an in-person visit to the DMV with proof of identity and date of birth. For students under 21, a parent or guardian must provide consent and help verify their identity.

IDNYC Card: Available to all New York City residents age 10 and older. This card is free, regardless of immigration status, and offers additional benefits like free memberships to many cultural institutions. Applicants ages 10–21 must apply with a parent/guardian present.

Sincerely,

Greenburgh-North Castle UFSD Transition Team
