Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS)

What is PBIS?
PBIS is a framework or approach for assisting school personnel in adopting and organizing evidence-based behavioral interventions into an integrated continuum that enhances academic and social behavior outcomes for all students.
PBIS IS NOT a packaged curriculum, scripted intervention, or manualized strategy.
PBIS IS a prevention-oriented way for school personnel to (a) organize evidence-based practices, (b) improve their implementation of those practices, and (c) maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for students.
PBIS supports the success of ALL students.
Clark Academy's school wide PBIS System provides students the opportunity to earn points in each class for displaying appropriate behaviors. We utilize the acronym CLARK to represent each of the areas that outline the school's behavioral expectations:
C- CONDUCT
L- LISTEN
A- ACHIEVE
R- RESPECT
K- KINDNESS
Students are awarded a color status on Friday mornings that represents the amount of points they achieved for the week. Students in the top two tiers are awarded bonus points that go toward their total "clark cash", which can be redeemed for rewards weekly.
